Changing preferences

Preferences

You may change the behavior of MaSIV by editing the preferences file: masivPrefs.yml. This is a plain text YAML file.

Working on a multi-user machine

Some settings are fairly user-specific, so on a multi-user machine you might want to have a copy of the preferences file somewhere in your home directory. If you use the version in the MaSIV source directory then you risk running into permissions issues or having your preferences overwritten by another user. Simply copy the masivPrefs.yml file to a directory in your path that you have write access to and that is higher up the path hierarchy then the MaSIV directories (you can check this with pathtool). You may find that your user directory is already at the top of the list, in which case you can create a copy there. MaSIV will then automatically use this copy.
