Rotki is the open source portfolio tracking, analytics, accounting and tax reporting tool that protects your privacy.

The mission of Rotki is to bring transparency into the crypto and financial sectors through the use of open source. Most importantly unlike virtually every other competing service which consists of closed source SaaS onto which you are forced to hand over all your financial data, with Rotki your data is stored encrypted locally in your computer. It enables you to take ownership of your financial data!

The crypto field is exploding. New protocols, new chains pop up every day. Users interact with those chains from many jurisdictions around the world. Each with its own unique requirements and accounting rules. No single centralized or closed source tool can be trusted with the ability to do accounting or to track all these.

It is our firm belief that the only viable long term solution is a modular opensource project with a fully dedicated core team but also supported by many individuals around the world who, with the support of the core team, can quickly and easily integrate new modules into the code. Such modules can be anything from a new blockchain, a new protocol to a completely new accounting methodology.

Rotki is a very ambitious project with a very small core team (2.5 people). Our backlog is huge but we are working on it relentlessly.

We are true to the ethos of our field, building a tool that is opensource, permisionless and does not limit you in any way. Our source license is copyleft. You can copy, share and modify it.

We have no VC interests trying to capture value and no token. We are doing things the right way. But doing things the right way is hard. Funding opensource, when it's done the right way is hard. This is where we need all the help we can get.

Any sponsorship is really appreciated and will help keeps us going, passionately developing open source software that enables you to own your data and protects your privacy.
