I'm currently using Better Touch Tool just for this. But seeing how powerful and customizable Karabiner Elements is, I'm wondering if the same thing could be achieved here.
What I would like to do is simply map the 3-finger swipe down gesture on the (native) MacBook trackpad to the CMD+W shortcut (close window).
I searched the online catalogue but couldn't find anything that looks like this. I also played around with the EventViewer as I'd be happy to create this myself, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to pick up trackpad swipes or even touches... just hard presses.
Is there any way to detect (multitouch) swipe gestures so they can be mapped to specific actions?
Edit: I also enabled the multitouch extension and I can see it's detecting my trackpad touches correctly. However I see no way to use this info in any scripts, as the event viewer still doesn't detect those gestures.
