Before posting an issue here, please check the Dash community forum to see if the topic has already been discussed. The community forum is also great for implementation questions. When in doubt, please feel free to just post the issue here :)
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When hovering over with the mouse over a chart and there is no object at the mouse position, the x and y coordinates are not showing on the axes. This is an issue, because I don't know the exact position of my mouse in the chart so I can see where possible datapoints might be.
Describe the solution you'd like
Irrespective of the position of items/objects on the chart, add an option to see the x coordinate of the mouse on the x axis and the y coordinate of the mouse on the y axis.
Describe alternatives you've considered
There is a proposed workaround on the forum, but it only works when the mouse position on the chart is over existing data points on the chart. I the mouse is over the chart but in a space where there are no data points, this workaround shows nothing
Additional context
I attached a picture with how I see the solution.
