Should notebook_ext be removed? #722

notebook_ext uses code compatible with notebook v6. v4 is optimised to work with Notebook v7+ and JupyterLab 4+ but it technically could still work with Notebook v6 or older.

Should we remove notebook_ext to avoid confusion, or keep it until Notebook v6 is no longer supported (presumably until v8 gets released)?

If it doesn't add any significant maintenance overhead I'm in favor of keeping it 👍
