Using Interceptors to handle ApplicationDbContext Saving logic

Has there been consideration to using Interceptors to handle the AuditableEntity and Domain Event logic within the ApplicationDbContext SaveChanges override?

I recently had to add some logic during the save operation and moved all of that code into implementations of the SaveChangesInterceptor with unit tests and it worked very well.
