How did you solder the hear rate sensor?

I already soldered components on the top so I cannot use a hot place to solder the bottom layer. I see that the hear rate sensor has a kind of plastic cover so I am not sure I would apply direct heat with an infrared station or hot air station. Should I try soldering it from the sides?

Sorry for the lousy drawing, the orange rectangle is the sensor on the bottom side and the red lines is where I am asking if I should apply heat from the sides to not damage the plastic cover of the sensor.

Yeah, I used hot air and blowing from the sides like in your image, always moving the airflow in a circle around. Have in mind I only soldered it once, so not alot of experience mounting the hear rate module. And have some patience.
