Changing device adapter.

Description

I have a device where I can take the data with a particular mac address. I have a dongle in which that mac address is cloned and I need to select that dongle to connect to the device. How can I change my adapter? I get both mac addresses when I list my PC mac address.

Is there a way to change the adapter on MacOs? I have an NRF840-Dongle and was looking to use this instead of the on board BT adapter. I've tried to use adapter kwarg in both BleakScanner.discover and BleakClient with no luck.

AFAIK, Apple doesn't allow 3rd-party Bluetooth adapters in their Bluetooth stack. They no longer allow kernel extensions, so it is impossible to write a hardware driver for them.

If the NRF840 has a custom higher-level UART API rather than standard Bluetooth HCI, then you would need to write a custom backed to use it, similar to #1194.

I'm struggeling with that. Currently using bleak 0.20.2 with winrt 1.2.0.
Could you please give an example of how the adapter could be defined in kwargs?
I'v a win 10 system with several Bluetooth adapters. The default one seems to be not working stable with bleak.

Linux is the only OS that supports using multiple Bluetooth adapters at the same time. On Windows, if you want to use a different adapter, you have to disable all other adapters in the Windows Device Manager.

Note when using multiple adapters and advertisement callbacks: based on this comment https://github.com/hbldh/bleak/pull/1400/files#r1307707229, the callback will be invoked for all adapters?

I suspect that most people that have multiple adapters don't use multiple adapters at the same time so we probably never noticed the issue.
