[Feature] Small delay before displaying tooltip

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The tooltips feel a bit sluggish, especially when moving the mouse within the same row. Is there any way to add a small delay before the tooltip is rendered?

IIUC from discussions in a recent community meeting, napari has implemented something like this already, so might be a good source of inspiration?
