Option to hide menu bar icon on macOS

Is there some way to hide the menu bar icon on macOS?

I have an older version of the Yubico Authenticator installed on another machine which doesn't have a menu bar icon. I usually keep the app open all the time and having the menu bar icon there is kinda annoying. It takes up precious screen real estate without adding any value to me. If there was an option to hide it that would be great.
