"["git status"] was problematic from river-dl, I had to change that to "git status" (no brackets) to work. Not sure if it's working correctly."
message '"git status"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Line where this git status is used. There may be others in the repo.
Also noting that this message appears in the terminal, but not in the snakemake log file. This makes me wonder if all Python messages (warnings, errors, etc.) are not appearing in this log file.

Interestingly that error stopped the pipeline locally (windows, this repo's conda env), but not on Tallgrass. (when reviewing Jared's salinity workflow)
