We need AEONX1 to be brought back online and validate whether it can be reliably used for long-term ephys acquisition:

  • Reconnect computer to rig with the old ONIX breakout
  • Check status of network card
  • Check processor make and model
  • Run 24/7 dummy probe recording with IMU

If any of the above fails, we should consider replacing AEONX1 with a new Intel machine and updated components.

Reconnect computer to rig with the old ONIX breakout - Done in 462.

Check status of network card - Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (11) I219-V. Networked onto the AEON subnet. New ports were mapped for this as the rig has moved to the other side of the room.

Check processor make and model - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz

Run 24/7 dummy probe recording with IMU - Failed twice due to windows update. Otherwise all functionality seems intact (IMU, probe readings and uploading data). Updates have been paused but some security updates cannot be disabled on this OS (10 Pro).

  • Consider upgrading to LTSC to permanently disable updates as a local group policy.
  • Consider checking whether Windows Update is running in the background and sending alerts to warn users and avoid PC restarts that cannot be recovered from automatically
