The idea of PRIME-RE to be open, but there might be topics that are better discussed solely with people with the appropriate background to avoid misinterpretation or abuse of information. For example, it could be valuable to share diagnostic and treatment experiences for animal care. People might be more willing to share if this wouldn't be completely open.

we did that once with @katjaq, for a meeting. We had a private repo with the website code. The repo was encrypted and the result put in a public version of the repo, which was then accessible through a github page. After entering the correct password (there was only one) the page was decrypted in the web browser. Here's how that looks like: https://neuroferret.github.io/2021/
