Make Maps JavaScript API optional? #103

As stated in the documentation, it is required to have the Google Maps API enabled, but this API does only work if you create a billing account, otherwise it starts failing after 4 or 5 requests. As far as I can tell, you only need to have the Google Places API accessible to get the place suggestions and that doesn't seem to be (as) restricted. Is there any way to make usage of the Maps Javascript API optional?
