Verifying Standards - Sharepoint Timeout

How can we verify that the standards are being applied correctly? (doesn't show in the BPA list)
EG We enabled the Enable 1 hour Activity based Timeout
However, in the two locations that we are aware of and looking at the API pointers, in both places, it appears that the standard has not been applied (even after a full 24hour cycle).
