Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

There is a pattern to deprecate gifs for animated image pattern
it is mentioning to convert to mp4. The link in the initial issue is mentioning several options and mp4 is one of them. In reference of the page, it is pointing to the wikipedia page where mp4 is not the top recommended one.
I'm unable to find comparison between mp4 and webp or apng (which seems to be the usually recommended replacement for gif on the initial link)

Describe the solution you'd like

it would be nice to help people to choose the best format based on the context. Also if we can point or create comparison with real data that will be useful.

Describe alternatives you've considered

using mp4 is better anyway than gifs, but maybe not the best solution in all contexts. Just adding more links in reference to let developers investigate themselves can be enough (or a first iteration).
